achieving one's goals...

Are you a goal setter?
I am a big goal setter and so is Nick. Now, the rest of my loves are too, or at least they use to be before kids, but I don't hear about their goals often. That being said, I am continuing to work on the resolutions I made at the start of the year...Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! ... and am especially proud of my exercising lately. It feels good to follow through and I have no reason not to these days, right? But here is the news I wanted to share. Last Saturday, Nick achieved his goal and ran a half marathon in Bend. It was his first race ever and he trained for two plus months. Nick has never been a runner but was drawn to enter a race after the new year and it finally happened. He ran the race in 2 hours and 5 minutes and here is something, the route took the runners primarily uphill. Yikes! Nick's comment to me when we spoke over the weekend was that he felt "accomplished". That says it all, does it not. Feeling proud of oneself for achieving something that you worked hard to achieve is special.
Well done, Nick!
