i really do what i say i do...

I think the hardest thing for many of us is to enjoy the "survival tasks" that we must complete to sustain our lives like cooking or cleaning or doing laundry or shopping or getting our kids from one place to another to name a few. Most of the time, when we are doing these things, and correct me if you must, we do them with the attitude that the task is a waste of our time and when it is finished, we can finally move on to what is important in our day. Do any of you feel that way? Anyone? Anyone?

Well, here are some of my thoughts. I believe we must learn to embrace each task that we need to complete to sustain our lives and the lives of our loved ones. It really does not matter where that task is on our "like list"; it must be done, right? So, when we are woking on that task with a negative attitude, it ends up draining us of energy that could be positively used in another way so why not  engage in a household or life job totally focused on what we are doing. If we approch a task like that, my friends, we actually will become consumed in it;  thinking of nothing else and that is a form of meditation and mindfulness which is good for our health. Who would have thought?

So the next time you bring your shopping cart into your beautiful home and it is filled to the brim and you know that it will take time to empty that said cart, take a breath. Think about what your goal is which is to put things away in all appropriate spaces so they can be easily accessed. To put those costly items that you spent hard, earned money on into the cabinets and/or onto the shelves in an orderly fassion so when the door to that storage space opens, anyone can find what they need to find because, tada, that space looks balanced and appealing and just beautiful.

Side note: Now, don't think that I can do this because I have the time. I actually have always followed this practice because I always want to feel good in my home, remeber I work for my environment to be both calm and peaceful!

Hopefully, this read will encourage you to think differently when those groceries need to be put away. Believe me, it does make a difference and the end result will be well worth your while. Just look at my "after" shot!

Until tomorrow...
