a family update...

I think I'm feeling a little nostalgic after a weekend of witnessing love between couples and friends and family members, so I decided to write down some thoughts and feelings I am having about each of my family members.

Brian:  Our Rock:  Brian is a man who beams when he sees his daughter and son-in-law, connects daily with Nick to be sure his new life is heading in the right direction, works to stay up on what is going on in Matt and Jenny's lives and is the true love of my life.  He is the one who I love waking up with and who I can't wait to see at the end of the day.  He knows me/us like no other and is accepting of who I/we am/are.  He is real and filled with love and kindness and compassion and understanding.

Sarah: Beautiful Inside and Out:   Sarah is a truly beautiful woman who's smile has forever warmed my heart.  When I see her, she makes me feel so blessed that she is my daughter as she beams with love for her husband and our family and her friends.

Chris:  A Good Man:  I know he loves my daughter and he takes care of her.  I see him look at her with both love and kindness. Chris will always work to be sure that Sarah and him are safe and secure and happy.  We are so lucky he is a part of our family.

Matt: Real:  Matt is who he is and truly accepts people for who they are.  I don't think I have ever heard him speak badly of anyone and he once said, "Don't we all have our quirks." (Yes, we do and that is why we need to accept people for who they are.)  He is hard working and talented and loves life.  He loves to "do things" and is always doing things.  He is truly a good man, too.

Jenny:  Kind:  Jenny is a kind and thoughtful woman.  She has, from the beginning, always thought of Brian and Nick and me.  She is organized and focused and committed to her career.  Jenny truly loves Matt and I really believe she is the woman he was waiting to find to make his life complete.  I remember the day we met Jenny, Brian literally said, "Matt, you need to put a ring on her finger."  How would he know instantly? I think he did because she is just a "good person".

Nick:  A Committed Man:  Nick thrives on discipline and self-control.  What ever he decides to do, he will put 110% effort into doing it right and he never gives up.  No matter what life throws at him, Nick will figure out a way to face the challenge.  He is often a man of few words and is not a fan of crowds.  He is just who he is, there is no disguise.  He is good.
