Nick has now been gone for four days. Yep, he started his new, real job. He was hired by the state and is currently training in Springfield to be a prison guard in a juvenile prison. The training is suppose to be quite strict and intense and one of the rules was that he could not bring his phone with him when he left. Don't you know I got home last night around 5:30, which is late for me, and Brian insisted we go out to get a bite to eat. I did not bring my phone as I wanted quiet and yep, Nick called. WHAT? He left me a message saying, "Hi Mom. I wanted to let you know that I'm alive. I'll be back home Friday afternoon and then back here on Monday." Can you believe he got to make a call and then no one answered? Yikes, that could make one feel sad! Anyway, Brian admitted yesterday that he has thought about him every day and then said he couldn't imagine how much I have been thinking about him. Whatever, a mother thinks about all of her children all of the time forever. That's just what a mother does.
