One of my students gave me a dozen eggs laid just this past week by her chickens. Yep, Madison is a chicken farmer. She uses a chicken coup in St. Charles to raise chickens that she shows at 4H Clubs. This little 11 year old girl goes to the coup every day before school to take care of her chickens and although she says it is "a lot of work", she loves it. Well, this was a first for me. A student, beaming with pride, handing me a dozen eggs with a note that said, "Some fresh eggs laid by my chickens for an eggcelent teacher!" How cute is that!
