the hot chocolate race...

I still can't believe I did it; I reached my goal and ran 15k in The Hot Chocolate Race.  The day was beautiful and my husband and sweet daughter were with me as I ran in a fun, long race for the very first time.  I enjoyed the experience, the excitement and the crowd and I worked to take it all in as I ran and ran and ran.  The only time I stopped running and needed to walk was when I turned a corner and was faced with a hill that had to be 45 degrees.  I looked at it and just thought, "Nope, this is not going to happen." as I had already run over 7 miles.  Just too tired to make the trip upward but that was okay.  Many racers told me to go ahead and stop when I needed to and walk because it was about finishing, but I wanted to run the whole race and I would say I did.  My sweet family and friends encouraged me and truly celebrated with me when I finished which was really heart warming.  It was nice to be so supported.  Will I do another?  I think so, but I need to recover first and as of right now, I'm feeling way better than yesterday!  That's a good thing!
