Chocolate Bark:
1 sleeve saltine crackers (unsalted tops)
2 sticks butter (unsalted)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 bag (12-oz) chocolate chips
topping of your choice (or lack thereof)
Preheat oven to 400°
Line a baking sheet with one sheet of tin foil. line up Saltines end to end until you cover the entire sheet. Break crackers in half if necessary to fit space.
Melt butter and sugar together in saucepan until they reach a boil. Boil for 3 minutes on medium-low heat until it turns a caramel color. Then pour over Saltines until they are covered. (Readjust saltines to flat rows if they move.) Bake 7 minutes.
Remove from oven and let stand for a minute or so, then dump the chocolate chips over the top. Let them melt for a bit, and then use a spatula to carefully spread the chocolate over the top.
Refrigerate on the cookie sheet for a few hours until hard, then break into pieces to eat!
