Our little family of 3 had a wonderful time celebrating Brian's birthday. I came home from work at the same time Nick pulled in the driveway with 2 six packs of different kinds of beers for Brian. A card was also bought by him and Brian loved the gesture. We headed to our favorite restaurant in town, La ZaZa Trattoria and enjoyed carpaccio, carciofe bianco (artichoke stuffed with breadcrumbs and served with a rich butter sauce), pollo arrosto (chicken with beautiful roasted potatoes) and tortellini porcini (tri-colored tortellini with three types of mushrooms). Our evening ended with a candle on a chocolate ganache cake and a "happy birthday" song. Brian smiled the entire night and this morning said, "I had such a nice birthday." Just want we wanted; a special evening for a special man.
