a nick update...

Nick is a positive person; more than I ever realized.  He does what he needs to do, does not complain, and works to stay upbeat.  He makes me laugh when I come home from work as he will usually say something like, "Finally your home.  I finally have someone to talk to."  He'll stay with me in the kitchen, help me make some dishes and just chat and chat and chat.  Yesterday, he cleaned his gun while I did a few work things before dinner as he went shooting in the afternoon and was pleased that he is improving.  That is, shooting his handgun after searching the internet on how to improve ones aim.  We talked about the week and although he is disappointed he is missing Alumni weekend in Jonesboro and seeing his rugby mates, he is thrilled the Bears are playing Thursday.  In fact, he lit up when Brian told him as he said he can "make some fun plans" with his friends on his day off.  Nick continues to send out numerous applications, he says he is getting really good at it, and schedules tests; in fact his Power Test is Saturday morning.  He also seems to look forward to the weekends when we are home.  Although he often shares he has no "social life" which is true, I continue to tell him it's only temporary and things will change when he gets a real job.  Oh, life after graduation!
