nick: Hi mom.
me: Are you being mean and just trying to hurt my feelings by never picking up your phone?
nick: Don't take it personal. If my phone is not right by me, I don't answer it for anyone.
me: Really? How are you?
nick: Good. How are you?
me: Good. I am cleaning today and then I'll be off to do errands.
nick: I'm sure you needed to clean.
me: Dad is busy at work this weekend.
nick: That's not good for you.
me: Are your friends in town?
nick: Yes. The "B-Team" is in St. Louis.
me: Are you going out?
nick: No. I'm doing some school work.
At this time, I am waiting for a deeper conversation.
me: Nick, did you see any of the news clips on Kevin Ware?
nick: DON'T ASK ME ABOUT KEVIN WARE? All the therapist did this week was talk about him and we watched his interviews and saw the injury on T.V. and I'm thinking, " Stop! Look around! None of us can walk and all you are talking about is Ware. Can't we talk about something more positive?"
me: WOW! Stop Nick and calm down. Have you told the therapist that you don't want to talk about Kevin Ware? You have the right to be upset.
nick: I do, don't I. No, but I'm going to tell them this week.
I was laughing at our conversation as Nick was truly frustated and fiesty. He is a funny guy.
