colleague: How is Nick?
me:  He seems better.
colleague:  Was break good for him?
me:  Well, I think he drank for 72 hours straight. 
colleague:  Oh, that's not good.  He must be depressed.
me:  Apparently.
colleague:  How is therapy going for him this week?
me:  I don't know.  I'm not calling him. I'm giving him some space.
colleague:  You don't need to give him space.  You pay the bills so you can call him whenever you want.
me:  If you say so!
