I love the first day of the new year as it means a fresh start. While I don't need to organize or clean or get a "to do" list together, I did frame Nick and my resolutions and "words for the year" before heading out for a few things to make The Pioneer Woman Chile and corn bread. Once the pot was "a simmering", I graded all of my papers and continued to visit with my injured Nick as we watched cooking shows and football. A bit of a disappointing day as Brian was, let me say, "consumed" in football and not in the mood for any discussions. I think I'm unhappy about this as Nick has been home for days and needs more contact with people and especially needs a break from me who is, of course, always there. Oh well, tomorrow is a regular day for most and I'll start my new daily routine which is sure to be fun.
