I made "kale-chips" for one of our family holiday gatherings and it went over...well, not great. We enjoyed the dish; but I added "course salt" so it was too salty. Making it again is a must as it had a light, salty, vegetable crispy and roasted taste that I found unique and delicious. How to do it? It was so simple:
- wash and dry kale.
- cut off the stems and then cut the leaves into pieces.
- put them on a cookie sheet and drizzle oil over the leaves.
- sprinkle with salt.
- mix the ingredients with your hands until the kale is evenly coated.
- cook in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes; gently tossing the leaves every 15 minutes.
- after the 45 minute time, if the leaves are not crispy, allow to bake for another 10 -15 minutes.
