Brian and I were sad yesterday after talking to Nick after the rugby game that he played in for about 10 minutes. He is again talking to us about quiting the team because he does not get the playing time he feels he deserves based on his skills. Nick has been thinking about this for awhile (...a long while) and we are going to talk to him about options over Thanksgiving. We decided that after a "face to face" discussion, both Brian and I will support Nick's choice as to what he wants to do over the next year and a half, but this will only happen after he talks to his coach. Nick deserves an explanation as to "why" he is not getting more play time, we have our guesses, and advocating for himself needs to happen this week. We don't want Nick waiting any longer; now is the time. Oh my, Brian and I so hate when one of our kids is unhappy. Our hearts hurt yesterday thinking of our Nick!
