christmas walk & house tour....

The photo the "Old Man" kindly took
of Sarah and I at Caribou.
Our "Christmas Walk & House Tour" day was truly lovely....
I picked up Sarah at the Geneva Train Station just before noon and we headed straight to Caribou. The two of us began to talk and plan our day and then, I decided to take out my camera to begin to capture memories. An older man next to us, in his eighties, quickly asked me if he could "...take a picture of you girls." which was dear! (It was one of those moments when you interact with a stranger who you know is one of those people that are sweet and good and kind and balanced, and maybe lonely.) Well, the man who was sketching a picture of a tree, took this picture of us and then we began our adventure.  Sarah and I toured ALL of the homes and the church. We caught up with each other's lives, planned Christmas Eve, talked about Chris and Nick and Matt and Brian and presents and recipes. We laughed hard and smiled a lot and hugged. Our day ended with Brian meeting us for appetizers and wine, and after our good byes, Sarah headed home to the city. I am lucky! This was a day I will always treasure. It was nothing extravagant; it was just a wonderful afternoon that I enjoyed with my daughter.
