I did not share that the day after our wedding, we received a call from Nick. He had been traveling about 8 - 9 hours, alone, in his car. Brian and I were tracking him from our home, so when the call came, we knew he was about 1 - 2 hours from Jonesboro. Nick's call shared new and unexpected information with us. His roommates were "evicted" from their new "house" and they had no place to live. CONFUSION! After Brian spoke with Pat, Nick's friend and roommate, and the landlord three times, we realized Nick had to find a new home. Brian left, the day after our wedding, to find Nick a place to live. It was insane and after five days, when Brian came back, all was good. Nick was settled in a one bedroom apartment with air, cable, furniture, and all living necessities in place. I still worry about Nick daily, but I also give myself a break. We have been through so much and though I know I need to let go, this was an experience, after 30 years, Brian and I had never encountered.
